Oh I love this Rachel. I too really enjoy those moments of solitude but I also am learning that the same Jesus who meets me in the quiet is always there with me throughout the day. Choosing to be present with him is sometimes hard but always worth it!
Thanks for reading and sharing your thoughts, Hayley! That really touches me. I definitely think the times of solitude enable me to meet him more throughout the day, but the moments he speaks throughout the day are so meaningful.
Hey! I saw your post pop up on my homepage and wanted to show some support. If you get a chance, I’d really appreciate a little love on my latest newsletter too always happy to boost each other!
As I mentioned in a different message, I'm not a religious person. However, I enjoy reading about religious perspectives. This concept of abiding is interesting to me because as I find it a mutual indwelling between God and the believer/s. Might sound strange, but could God be transformed himself due to the ongoing communication with his followers? It's not a true question as much as just a philosophical one. Elise
Hey Elise! I actually really love when we are able to learn from & amiably interact with others even when we believe differently. I value your desire to read and engage with what I write even though you may not believe the same things! I believe that God is unchanging but the ways he speaks, moves, and works will never be fully understood by us. And you know what? I love that. If I could fully understand and know everything about Him, then he wouldn’t feel like a God worth putting everything into at all. I don’t know if that makes sense!
Rachel🥹 this reflection is pure soul nourishment. Your honesty is refreshing and your unfolding understanding of abiding is both gentle and profound. The way you describe moving from rigid solitude into a deeper, freer communion with God in the everyday .. in the mess, the mundane, the interruptions .. is the kind of truth that meets people where they really live. Thank you for reminding us that abiding isn’t a place we visit, it’s a posture we carry! anddd YES you should absolutely write that book. Until then, keep choosing the better part. You’re already helping so many of us do the same🫂
Bria, this response is making me smile! It means so much to me that how the Spirit has communed with me has spoken to you too. I like how you said it - it’s a posture we carry. I’m so encouraged by your response 💛
Excellent insight, Rachel. It is easy to live life in a mundane way. Thanks for calling us to a better way, abiding in his presence.
Thanks for reading! I’m glad you enjoyed these wandering thoughts too.

Glory be to God 🙌🏾🤍
“Abiding is choosing the better part and delighting in it.” — that is so good, Rach!! What a beautiful flower for our favorite little mind mole 🤍
Love your feedback, Abigail - my dearest friend 💛
You are an excellent writer.
